In a Virginia High School League (NFHS) game with a runner on 3rd base and one out, the batter attempts a safety squeeze bunt. The ball is bunted hard down the first base line and fielded by the first baseman who decides to try to get the runner from 3rd out at the plate rather than get the out at first (which would have been an easier play). The runner scored on the play at the plate - result runner scored and batter reached first safely. No obvious errors. My question is how is this play scored? Is the batter credited with sac bunt, which he was obviously attempting, an RBI, and no at bat or is the play scored a fielder's choice with run scoring and the batter charged with an at bat. If it is the latter, does the batter get an RBI?
