If a batter swings at strike three for the third out and the catcher missed the ball and it lodges under the ump's armpit is the batter still out?

Batter swings and misses the third strike which is the third out. However, the catcher misses the ball which never hits the ground and lodges under the ump's armpit. Is this an out or does the runner get first base? Please explain for high school baseball.
