So there are two outs and runner on third. The batter hits the ball back to pitcher who throws to home for some reason. The runner is safe at home. Then the catcher throws to first where the batter is safe. My question is, if the runner had not beaten out that throw, would the run still count at home? I have never seen this play happen? I know usually a runner can get in a run down and a runner does score a run it does indeed count. This was totally weird.
