Hello, UE. Glad to be here. I'll get to the chase. I'm a 24 year-old, life-long fan of baseball and have just this evening registered and paid for my first year of classes. I am very excited. I'm living and (presumably) working in Jefferson County, Colorado. Just putting that out there. The field-training classes start this Sunday. I've been practicing my Safe and Out calls in front of a mirror but the question I really want to ask is this: Out of roughly 130 aspiring little league umpires, how can I make myself stand out to my instructors? What do they look for? What do they perceive as negative qualities and how do recognize the positive ones? I'm hoping to make a splash this Spring. Any tips or words would be greatly appreciated.
