834k3r Posted August 20, 2025 Report Posted August 20, 2025 I know a few of us are vets (@Aging_Arbiter, @Umpire Santa, @mac266), but I thought it would be good to see which of us are vets and serving on the diamond as well. I was USAF ('93-'14). 2 Quote

jimurrayalterego Posted August 22, 2025 Report Posted August 22, 2025 USAF 68 - 73. Opinion and question: National Anthem with one of you, we both salute. I do the hand over heart with a partner/s who is not a Vet. What say you? 1 1 Quote

The Man in Blue Posted August 24, 2025 Report Posted August 24, 2025 Technically never existed in the military . . . not as sexy as it could sound. "Parade rest", cap off. I have issues, won't do hand over heart. But then, I also don't think we need to play a pre-recorded National Anthem at amateur/youth sporting events. Perform it live, make it special, or don't bother. 2 Quote

BLWizzRanger Posted August 25, 2025 Report Posted August 25, 2025 Alt most respect to you all. It is unthankful job that isnt easy. Son of a Marine and father to one whom is standing around (hopefully) in DC right now. Also, I work closely to one service whom is on the 30ish attempt to update in-service software. Its not easy there either. Technically never existed in the military . . . not as sexy as it could sound. "Parade rest", cap off. I have issues, won't do hand over heart. Just keep it under a minute and a half with no new interpretations, please.Sent from my SM-F721U1 using Tapatalk 4 Quote

I know it isn't their fault and I'll stop before I get too much further down that political quagmire. As for the recording, I could support that idea. Recording a piece like that is not easy, though. Not a quality recording anyway. Our school is putting in a recording studio, and I'm the guy pitching a multi-media arts program to use it . . . so . . . I don't know squat about the equipment or mixing music though. Quote

Listen, if today’s youth can figure out how to capture and post a stoooopid dance video to TikTok, or a lame busking video (running it thru auto-tune is the lame part) to Instagram, then I’m sure they can figure out how to record and produce the National anthem. Just need motivation, and an absence of meddling adults. 1 Quote
