USAF 68 - 73. Opinion and question: National Anthem with one of you, we both salute. I do the hand over heart with a partner/s who is not a Vet. What say you?

Personally, I salute, cap/skully on, regardless of what my partner does.

Technically never existed in the military . . . not as sexy as it could sound.

"Parade rest", cap off.

I have issues, won't do hand over heart.  But then, I also don't think we need to play a pre-recorded National Anthem at amateur/youth sporting events. Perform it live, make it special, or don't bother.

Here’s the key part – you guys earned the right to choose.

Thanks 🙏🏼 each & all.

Alt most respect to you all. It is unthankful job that isnt easy. Son of a Marine and father to one whom is standing around (hopefully) in DC right now. Also, I work closely to one service whom is on the 30ish attempt to update in-service software. Its not easy there either.

I always wondered why high schools dont promote their bands by playing a recording of their rendition of the Anthem. Just keep it under a minute and a half with no new interpretations, please.

I hope he isn't getting too much hell, as I am one who would be out there giving them hell. I know it isn't their fault and I'll stop before I get too much further down that political quagmire.

As for the recording, I could support that idea. Recording a piece like that is not easy, though. Not a quality recording anyway.  Our school is putting in a recording studio, and I'm the guy pitching a multi-media arts program to use it . . . so . . . I don't know squat about the equipment or mixing music though.

Listen, if today’s youth can figure out how to capture and post a stoooopid dance video to TikTok, or a lame busking video (running it thru auto-tune is the lame part) to Instagram, then I’m sure they can figure out how to record and produce the National anthem.

Just need motivation, and an absence of meddling adults.
