The Man in Blue Posted May 3, 2025 Report Posted May 3, 2025 No how, no way, no, no, no. That is worse than giving Pudge a tuna fish sandwich. 1 Quote
BLWizzRanger Posted May 3, 2025 Report Posted May 3, 2025 I've bought two pair of white Reeboks, trimmed in Navy blue no less, 15 years ago because they were my jam and I thought I'd save some money. Knees went bad, maybe because of them, lol, and never used the second pair.Still got them. If the OP catches on, I might be able to pull them out or sell them in Japan. MadMax Posted May 4, 2025 Report Posted May 4, 2025 Idda know... As much as all-white shoes would be blasphemy, they'd be used before Labor Day... ... annnnnnd, these do demonstrate that yet again, SSK cares more about us (umpires) than Nike ever has, or likely will. Could we get those plate shoes in black? They look a helluva lot better than 3N2s!! Ya know, that brings up another deeply ponderous question... @The Man in Blue and @beerguy55 I want to hear your take on this... if Softball is soooooo ensconced in navy-everything for uniform colors, then why... oh why... are they so painfully particular about all-black shoes (same with mask-&-accessories, belts, etc.)? Wouldn't or shouldn't those shoes be... navy? 🤔 Quote
boyinr Posted May 4, 2025 Report Posted May 4, 2025 I’d like to know if they sell the matching white belt to complete the Cousin Eddie look. 3 Quote
JonnyCat Posted May 4, 2025 Report Posted May 4, 2025 They'd go great with the tucked in jacket look! 2 1 Quote

SeeingEyeDog Posted May 4, 2025 Author Report Posted May 4, 2025 Just going to add to @JonnyCat's vibe...by the mid-70s, the BeeGees were indeed a global phenomenon. Then 1977 arrived and gave us the Saturday Night Fever soundtrack which, if you lived in the US suburbs during that time was just mailed to you, regardless of the home's inhabitants musical sensibilities. That album was everywhere, even Grandma and Grandpa had a copy! The BeeGees were so ubiquitous that in late 1978 my beloved Emerson, Lake and Palmer released their dud entitled "Love Beach". If there was ever a worse album from a better band, I'm unaware of it. And with that, I give you the cover of "Love Beach"...sigh...so painful...remember this was a band who had H.R. Giger doing their cover art at one point... ~Dawg 1 Quote

Wouldn't or shouldn't those shoes be... navy? 🤔 A while back I had reported I wore navy shoes for a softball game. I believe it was in the belt thread when somebody reported the "stretch" belt could be bought in a 3-pack with black and navy. I have pretty well hit the "I don't give a $#!+" stage when it comes to scholastic ball and what they want. Softball isn't so ensconced in navy that they let us wear navy shirts. At least, not Fed around here. Powder blue with the softball (navy stripe) collar only. Baseball has finally caved to "match your partner" during the regular season. Baseball post-season, That said, I wear my navy "pro" pullover that I got on a Smitty clearance sale every time I can. Wish I had bought more of them. 1 Quote
AtlUmp Posted May 14, 2025 Report Posted May 14, 2025 Looks like Mizuno is also doing white umpire shoes. And they have a navy version for the bases. 1 Quote

834k3r Posted May 14, 2025 Report Posted May 14, 2025 Thankfully the plate shoes got rid of those horrific (YMMV) pyramids on the protective plate. Might have to try SSK shoes next time I get shoes. Quote
