There are some interps about calling safe when pushed off the base and also some about a normal tag pushing the runner of the base. I think I would go with this tag being applied and runner safe and then a push which i would judge as still safe.

The extra base (green here, orange often) doesn't exist for anyone other than the BR on the initial play at 1B.

Good point but i think his toe was on the white base until he was pushed/tagged.

I think he was safe when the tag was initially applied but readjusted his foot and lifted it from the white.  I do NOT have that as being pushed off the base.

I watched this game in real time.  R1 was initially safe but F3 was watching R1 and placed a tag on the top of the shoulder as R1 came up.  F3 then got excited and placed the tag on the front of the shoulder and did push the runner back some but he never pushed the runner off of the bag.  R1 then adjusted his foot to move it to the white bag.  That's how I saw it.

I don't have a push here. F3 held the ball on him and R1 tried to move his foot to the white base. I don’t think he was touching the white base when he stood up.

Yeah, this is where I'm simply trusting the ump has a better angle than we do - looks to me like his toe is touching white, but ump is pretty definitive.  Even if the call is because/when R1 moves his foot, it makes me suspect the foot was never touching...otherwise why move it...if it's me I'm staying perfectly still and making it very clear I'm touching white.  I've played enough games on those bags to know the drill.

I don't think coaches and players understand how much umpires read them to make calls.

As I climb the "Slope of Almost Adequate" I am learning patience to read the players when I have less than perfect information. HBP is the classic example but also on swipe tags where you're blocked or missed base touches - wait, wait, wait to see how they all react. Pitch near the knob with no physical reaction... and still no reaction... Ok, FOUL!

I had one Monday that I started writing here but I'll make a new thread instead since there are nuances I want to get folks take on.
