johnnyg08 Posted January 24 Report Posted January 24 Looking at some photos from the last few weeks at Harry's. The weather looks less than ideal. Is it normally that chilly? Quote
SeeingEyeDog Posted January 24 Report Posted January 24 A buddy of mine is there now and has confirmed this. This current Polar Vortex covers down past Daytona. Parts of Louisiana and Alabama got 5" of snow which rarely happens there. ~Dawg 1 1 Quote

Ugh...not that you can control it...but those are some long days outside when it's that crappy. 1 Quote
BLWizzRanger Posted January 24 Report Posted January 24 Oh, I wonder what they would give for a HW logo'ed gloves, or toboggan, or fleeced lined jacket right about now... Quote
DerekGDS Posted January 24 Report Posted January 24 We did not send them the appropriate jackets this year - convertibles ain't cutting it. 2 1 Quote

The Man in Blue Posted January 25 Report Posted January 25 My son hasn't been calling home much . . . but he has texted several pictures of palm trees. Any pics to share? (Guessing probably mostly social media, which knocks me out of seeing them.) Quote

The Man in Blue Posted January 25 Report Posted January 25 Thank you @johnnyg08! Much appreciated! (I don't see him in the background of any of them.) 1 Quote
BLWizzRanger Posted January 25 Report Posted January 25 In the pictures, they look like they are ready for a March game above the 37th parallel. I wouldn't expect them to take their entire wardrobe... hmmm.... 1 Quote
The Man in Blue Posted January 25 Report Posted January 25 I know it is very different when you are out in it all day, but I had to laugh when I looked up what the temps had been compared to the pics. Northerners should be just fine. 😋 1 Quote

Even in the North, that's chilly out of the Sun and in the wind. 2 Quote
tpatience Posted January 26 Report Posted January 26 When I was there in 20, we had a week of high 40s weather. The fields are only a few miles from the beach so with the wind, it gets very cold there, for Florida standards. One of my last partners is an instructor and he said it’s been a cold a*s month 1 1 Quote

Toboggan, sled, cardboard, plastic snow saucer, flexible flyer, cafeteria trays, plastic sheets, and inner tubes all do the same thing. Most of them, however, would not make practical headwear. Quote
