Just saw these on Amazon earlier this week and ordered a 2-pack for $9. The brush is 4.5" wide so fitting in the ball bag will be interesting. I also like the sharp edge on the handle for scraping mud on those slightly soggy fields...anybody have anything to report with this?

:sarcasm:

Maybe fitting into the little inside pocket that we are used to using would be interesting......but I'm here to tell you, it should probably fit into the ball bag.

Good looking brush.  If it's too tall, maybe trim the brush end in like half?

I use the "Japanese Plate Brush" purchased several years ago that's very wide:

but because it's thin, it fits in the ball bag pocket (hangs out the top of the pocket a little bit).

Heh when it was muddy and caked on I used my foot to scrape the most off it and then my bush if needed but usually my foot did a better job.

Kind of awkward using your bush, isn't it? 🤣 I'm not that flexible.

I have attempted to use these before.  They suck - the bristles aren't hard enough to move dirt efficiently.  I went right back to my standard brush after one game using those.

That's what I use.

For particularly nasty mud (a frequent phenomenon here during the early part of the high school season), I'll use a car body putty scraper and leave the brush in the truck. They scrape off the mud well, and they're cheap.

Good to know - thanks! I was tempted to buy one before reading this - figured it would speed up the brushing, but sounds like that's not the case.

Many, many, many times.

And my favorite solution in the many times this happens? Find some nice, dry dirt, pour it on the plate and rub it off with the sole of my shoe. It's not like a ball with that wet paint has bounced and stained my brand new plate pants before...

So, to close the loop on this "plate brush"...this thing is absolute and total garbage! Flimsy bristles that flop around like a feather duster! You've never looked or felt more unprofessional using a plate brush! The only thing missing is the French Maid's uniform...ugh...just terrible. Get better, Deekin! You're horrible! Figure it out!

You’re welcome.

But hey, it’s cheap (Amazon) garbage! Much, much better value than that stoooopid My-First-Umpire-Kit (MFU… hey hey hey! 🫢) ya get from Champro, along with a gardener’s tool pouch and some… sort of plastic thingy that looks like it came in a box of Cracker Jacks at one time. :HS
