Does anybody have an opinion on which is best if you have tried both the Honigs and Smitty V3 shirts(current MLB).  Also has anybody tried the Smitty or Honigs jackets with the grey shoulders in either the convertible or the heavy? Either better for any reason or have any size issues to know about before ordering? Thank you.

I used the Smitty version in Softball colors last year.  Shirts were solid, but fit a little funny.  Shirts are sized for the plate and run big.  I found that the arm were small so I ended up getting Large for both the Plate and bases, but had my seamstress take out an inch of each panel side for my base shirts.

The jacket is more of a windbreaker.  You'll need to layer under it.  Single layer of nylon shell.  Also not waterproof.  Collar doesn't like to stay in shape - not my favorite piece of uniform.  I was hoping that the Honig's light jacket would be better, but the photos on the website look the same.  The thick jacket is nice.

We don't make the convertible with grey shoulders, but we do make the shirts. I won't comment on brand qualities since I am clearly biased but there are some independent reviews available on the site. I think a few other folks on UE have purchased them as well.

I haven’t tried the new shirts yet but I have the new jacket from Honigs in the 1/4 zip. I don’t personally own the Smitty counterpart to really know the difference. But I do like my jacket. It’s pretty warm and a good fit. One thing I’ve noticed is that it wrinkles fairly easily and I feel like I’m always steaming it. Might just be from keeping it folded and not hung up but I haven’t noticed wrinkling on the smitty ones when other guys bring them. The one critique that really bugs me though is that it doesn’t come with elastic at the bottom so you either have to add it yourself or tuck it in. I(my wife) added the elastic for me cause I hate the tucked in jacket look on the bases.

Great.  I didn't realize you had the version 3 shirts.  How do they compare to the version 2 of your shirts with the side panels as far as fit and material? I really like those.

Same fabric and fit as the MLB side panel.
