New Force 3 - tight around neck

Recommended Posts

Are you missing the "collar" (the piece that says Force3 below) or did you drop it way down?  I know it only goes in the front, but helps keep the sides pushed out.

I've only worn mine a few times.  I have to spread the neck opening out to put it on, but I've not had any issues with the sides rubbing (and I have a thick neck).

I bought the deal too. Very disappointed. Not even a consideration to use it over my Adam’s XV (or even my first CP Champpro softside). Will be returning it.

It’s bulkier than the Adams and feels like a slab hanging off my front. I altered my Adam’s though to be more comfortable. Feels more like football pads now.

Bulkier or heavier?  It is definitely heavier, but I would say it is not as bulky.  It is a nice snug fit and doesn't feel as if it is hanging at all.

I haven't made up my mind on it yet.  I think it fits great and is plenty flexible.  It does have a lower profile, IMO, than my Cobalt, but I haven't been impressed with the breathability.

I also have the Schutt HDX (Adams XV, whatever we are calling it) and I would rate it tops in heat management, but I could never quite get the fit dialed in on it.  I think a new harness might go a long way there, but never sank the money into it.

I have an ump life harness. I also removed the extra side rib pads, took the padding under the shoulder caps out, removed the epaulets, and repositioned the shoulder caps to be higher (more on top of the shoulder). It feels light, is both comfortable and snug, and looks good (if I do say so myself).

I feel like I'm wearing a next generation 1970s AL pillow. Maybe it's just not built for my roundness.

Interesting . . . I'm a "rounder than average, rounder than above average" guy and I don't get that feel from it at all.  At first, I was slightly put off by the "boxiness" of the plates (since everything else has fairly rounded/shaped plates) but I think the way they are set up, they actually start to conform well once I adjusted the strap and put it into the field.  I really like that the extension does not "fly out" like the Cobalt.

I am contemplating going down the HDX modification route . . . I know we have lots of threads on here (found one from way back when @MadMax was teasing a video and working at a warehouse), but is there a "go to" thread?

I think this one was my inspiration. Lesson I learned: you don't have to carve the padding out of the mesh wraps. The whole wrapped module can come out. I didn't realize that until I excitedly got to cutting.

Yeah, that may well be and I considered that may be the case but even putting it on I realized how much I like my Adams (I call it that because that's the logo on the chest) and don't want $200 (even if it was to save $100 😁) sitting unused.
