flyingron
Just think how much you're going to be missing. You won't have Angel Hernandez to kick around anymore. (I'm really dating myself now).
BLWizzRanger
Obligatory Eric Gregg video. Lets just say Eric had an eye for the outside pitch. I don't think Angel ever approached this level. https://www.facebook.com/watch/?v=874669836638799
The Man in Blue
The real question is how long fans will keep blaming Angel after he is gone because they don’t bother to pay attention. 1

They don't have to pay attention....The media, the horrible irresponsable Facebook groups, Jomboy, Etc. will tell the ignorant masses who the next bad guy is. 2

The Man in Blue
At a Prospect League game tonight … U1 called a tag (looked like he missed to me, but I’m in the bleachers) … “Come on Angel, open your eyes!” 🙄

From the BRD, a Fitzpatrick interp from about 2000: "The umpire may reverse his call if everyone concerned ignored his initial signal." I faintly recall at least one instance of an umpire other than Hernandez doing that in MLB.
Vegas_Ump
How about this? Angel was PU. 2-2 Count R2, R3. Batter does something that looks like a check swing, but the ball went down and past the catcher to the backstop. Angel calls it a "foul ball" Hands clearly up, signaling that the ball is dead. Batter casually stays at the plate. The catcher runs back, picks up the ball, tags the batter, asks for U1 to rule is if were an offer. Yes! He went! Catcher says it was not a foul ball but a U3K. Angel concurs! Rules strike three! Batter out! Inning over! Angel un-fouled a ball! Allowed the ball to be in play again! And ruled a strike out on the catcher's play on the U3K. Gents, you cannot un-foul this one! Mike Las Vegas

Mike Las Vegas No you can't un-foul that one, it didn't meet Fitzpatrick's criteria which you are now aware of.
