College Softball - 3 Ump Mechanics

Saw this video. 3 Ump mechanics caught my eye, from the pre-pitch positioning to the rotation on ball that stayed in the infield. Very different than what we do on baseball small field. Is that because of adult women vs 12 yr old kids (even though the field is the same size)?
