So what? It’s exciting for me to work with a mlb umpire. That’s something I shouldn’t have to keep hidden.

I'm just giving you a hard time. Ray will time to time let us know who is using his stuff. So why shouldn't you do the same.

Will be fun for you to hear his feedback.

I'll have to make a note of trying to peak at his stuff when he is working a game I am watching.

Still VERY COOL!

I wanted to take a moment and thank all of the Umpire - Empire crew for being so kind and generous with their time, and trust. I wanted to also thank @Razzer for as he spent some time talking to me about my product. I would also like to thank @MadMax and @wolfe_man for their continues feedback and help. As many of you guys know, I am 17 years old, my goal one day is to be a mlb umpire, this is simply a project to do along the way. I hope to retrofit many more protectors as my years go on. I will say this, I hope I never become a wilson sporting goods, heres why. Because If I ever ever made a product like Wilsons @MadMax would have me removed from the site in fear that I would take over the Wilson industry and he wouldnt have the opprotunity to buy wilson products and burn them. Anyways, I hope to make a meaningful conection with everyone I work with, I hope that one day, when I die, I can leave a legacy, of honesty, respect, and determination, that goes for my business too! I want everyone that has their protector retrofitted by me to feel like they are being treated with respect. I hope one day I can make it to the MLB, and if I do that will be awesome, but if I dont, that just means God has other plans for me, one thing I can say for sure is this is a new chapter of my life, and a new begining of something great! I hope over the years I earn each and one of your guises trust, whether its me retrofitting your protector, and jsut talking baseball with you guys! I wanted to say thanks!

Thanks for your time,

Michael Materasso

Just got an orange one in. Very interesting.

Yup. They exist.

We must remember... Riddell is a football equipment company, first and foremost, and didn't specifically allocate resources (parts, materials) to the Power; they simply employed what they had on hand for football. The Power name wasn't unique to the baseball CP, either; several models of football shoulder pads, from which the CP employed parts from, were named Power.

I'd have to check and verify, but I speculate that the rare, revered orange Riddell Power CPs were the result of Illinois-based Riddell obtaining a significant quantity of orange nylon so as to outfit the University of Illinois and/or the Chicago Bears. Of course, these were produced just before the Cease-&-Desist Letter was issued from Wilson by way of litigation.

What does the user / customer want done on that orange Power? I would advocate that, in lieu of getting orange wicking fabric, to recommend using orange thread to sew the pad back together instead of black. Orange-on-black would look hella-dope, and be an homage to this rare CP.

There's that rumor that there is a warehouse full of the Riddel's including orange ones, where they were sent when the c & d took affect.

He wants me to orange everything. The person who had it before was a MILB umpire and painted it all black! Sad, but I was able to get it all off, and make it pretty much brand new again. So thats exciting, orange everything, just besides the mesh on the back. LOL. He wants it all orange.
