Windy for all around weather. I'm a sailor so I care a lot about what the wind is doing.   It does a great job with animating the weather (e.g. doppler radar) and you can choose from the Euro model, GFS, and a few others for predictions.

Weather Bug for lightning. I believe it is the recommendation of LL. Their real time lightning strike map is great. It gives you nearest strike in last 30 mins too.

RadarNow for general usage, including alerts when my current location goes into an NWS-indicated alert (watches and warnings), which also makes it great for driving in potentially nasty weather.

RadarScope (paid only) for the look that you can get from TV stations. If you live in the tornado belt, everybody is an amateur meteorologist, and we like seeing wind sheer, etc.

Daily basis forecasts, Google's built-in status/front-page screen

When weather is coming and I want to know how long it will be before it gets here, I open AccuWeather

If I'm looking at lightning in particular, "Lightning Alarm"
