I have a pair of black & white UA Yard Turf II’s in size 11 (worn twice) for a very fair price if anyone is interested.  They’re sharp looking with great traction! (PM if interested so I don’t hijack the thread)

Bought new this March, just stuck with my NB Mids again this year as I kept rolling my ankle.

But the only new ones I’ve heard about are the Mizuno’s.

I'm in the market for new base shoes. I bought a pair of Mizuno Ambition for turf games earlier this year and now I need something for grass fields. Before I pull the trigger, is there anything on the horizon out there that's coming out before next February?

Aren't there a SH*#-ton of threads/info on base shoes on the equipment forum currently? 🤔

That said, ... there's no reason in the world why the new Mizuno Ambitions can't be used for grass, ...plenty of traction there (more than others I've used in the past for both surfaces)

Yeah, they can...I just don't like to spend time cleaning shoes so, I have two pairs of shoes (plate and base) for turf and two for grass. The Ambitions are ok but, I don't love them enough to buy another pair for grass. Apologies for the superfluous post...

Ok, hang on.  You have 2 pairs of plate shoes, and 2 pairs of base shoes?  Plates for turf and grass, base for turf and grass? 🤔

Not sure where this is going...my turf shoes (1 pair plate and 1 pair base totaling 2 pair), just need to be brushed after each game to get the pellets off of them and shined perhaps once or twice a year.

My grass shoes (1 pair of plate and 1 pair of base totaling 2 pair) need to be brushed, scrubbed and polished after every game. What am I missing here?

Missing?  Nothing, it was just a question.   I'd have to say during my season (this year due to me getting back into summer ball) ...my grass/dirt to turf ratio is now 75-25 grass/dirt.   It used to be 95-5 grass/dirt.  Therefore, ... having 2 pairs of shoes for specific fields seems like overkill, plus a lot of cash.  BUT THAT'S ME!

Here's the bottom line as far as the real question in the OP of this thread, which I do understand, but .....

Grass/Dirt = More traction needed (potentially)  while still a turf shoe for sure, ...maybe more of a studded sole.

Turf = Not as much traction needed (potentially) turf shoe of course, but a smoother sole can be utilized.

It's going to boil down to personal preference and how supported you feel in certain shoes on certain surfaces.  The expenditure to have 2 sets of shoes for each field surface, for me, is what is superfluous, ... not necessarily the post/question.

I do the same. Grass shoes are all leather (well, as much as I could find for the plate) for easy cleaning.

Turf shoes are difficult to clean, but I don't care because I rarely have to do anything except throw them back in the bag.
