I think the ".shop" is different from the Purchase Officials that we all know and love.

Purchase Officials .COM are out of Akron, OH and have become the outfitter (not supplier, there’s a difference) for MLBUs (taking over from Honigs). They’re also the supplier-of-choice for several independent-pro leagues and collegiate conference / associations. 

I’d trust buying from them, and have before several times. 

Purchase Officials .SHOP is out of Las Vegas, NV and appears to be one of these fly-by-night, pop-up operations acting as a reseller on gear. They used to be operating under a different name, and likely changed their URL and “storefront” to leech off Purchase Officials’ increased traffic and market. 

Be cautious.

Be willing to bet their prices are obnoxiously cheap. Like selling a West Vest Golf Memory Foam CP at 90% off or something dumb like that! 

I would avoid them like the plague if I were you.

It's a scam.  They may not scam you, but they may.  As soon as you place the order, they'll probably steal your CC info and do something with it.

The one on eBay awhile back was selling everything at 1/3 - 1/4 of true cost, but they were stealing people's CC information and using it to buy something else.  It was kind of like a reverse Ponzi scheme.   Instead of reinvesting your money and then giving you the next investor's cash, these guys were selling you gear at a discount but then using your card to help buy the next guy's discount.

Remember the old adage: if it looks to good to be true, it probably is.   They're not in business to GIVE you anything, so how are they making money here?  OFF you or your information.

I remember Jim Kirk explaining this on the forum.  They shut it down pretty quick.

There is a new scam site that just popped up, they are even using ump-attire.com pictures on their site.  I would stay away from www.baseballbucketus.com/ this look like a total scam site for sure!!!

There's a lot of this on FB too.  Really cheap prices on brand-new umpire gear.  Rule of thumb, if it seems too good to be true - it's a scam.  They're getting something from you besides your money - and they'll get that too eventually.
