Apparently this "kid" has been suspended and the police are investigating the incident.

Agreed.

I do wonder if BR said something. At 0:14 you see BU point at BR followed by the pitcher losing his sh*t.

I'm sure the umpire's report has a good description to make it worth while, but its hard to believe that is 2 games vs 4 for the pitcher.  It is also kind of unfortunate that the NCTC team ends up getting the short end of the stick (double forfeit for THIS game, plus forfeiting the next two), but I guess WC's coach either did a good job teaching his guys to not leave the dugout during something like this (or more likely, the whole team wasn't willing to come out to defend the pitcher's actions!).

It says in first paragraph P got 4 games, but he is off the team anyways (but will carry over if he transfers anywhere)

I'm guessing JUCOs don't have to follow the NCAA suspension guidelines, but I know a pitcher being ejected for any reason is an automatic 4 game suspension in NCAA.  How in the world they only gave out 4 games here is beyond me.

WC had the good fortune I guess that it didn't happen right in front of their dugout.

Ah, you're almost definitely right about that one!  You're absolutely right about 4 games being a small punishment, particularly when comparatively the punishment for 'mean words' of some sort is 2 games.  Perhaps the pitcher got fewer games knowing it is basically a season ban thanks to the school dropping him, but its still frustrating to think you could straight attack someone like that and lose that few games.

This would be a 4-game suspension in NCAA, as well. Anything above that would be institutional or conference.

Ugly situation. Lots of coulda/woulda/shoulda second guessing from a distance. Makes you think about how to handle things when we find ourselves in similar situations though.

Fair enough.  Still surprising that it was only 4 games (it appears the conference levied/announced the suspension), but it's water under the bridge.  Maybe the school knew the kid was going to be gone.
