He's high on some prices and low on some others.  I think it's because his prices are fixed whereas eBay fluctuates with the market and exchange rate for the Yen (vs. Dollar).

I agree. The prices don't change much. Even year to year.

The Japanese gear is just a little different. Subtle little details in the way they are made. All my Mizuno gear came with their own Nylon bags.

SG is again a reliable supplier with their customer service being unbelievable. I have ordered three times from them and each one has a hand-written note in the shipment (and in English). I have purchased Mizuno plate shoes, shin guards and chest protector from them in the last 5/6 years.

It'd be super sweet to get that Mizuno logo 'white'! default_nod.gif

Hate to revive, but.... Sweeney, NCAA/CWS guy had them on last week with what appeared to be white factory logos! Maybe they DO make them w/ white logos

What's this Samurai Gear site everyone's mentioning? Web search comes up with a boat load of off road parts links and a few sites offering Mizuno Samurai catcher's gear.

It's Gears not Gear. So that should solve the problem. You have to enter your email to "sign up" but you will NEVER receive an email from him.

But I highly recommend searching ebay as well.

Is the material on these patent leather or just really shiny for the photos.

SB isn't supposed to wear patent leather but supervisors want the shoes shined up.

The top of the Metatarsal plate on the SSK is hideous ... imho

Says you. Beauty is in the eye of the beholder.

You might think it hideous, but to Mad Max and the Ayatollah of Rock-&-Rolla, it’s beautiful!

Look at all those shoulder pads and CPs!

So, this thread title (which scans, I note admiringly), and nobody has mentioned The Vapors? Shame!

I figured it was a challenge laid down by Max to see how long we could go without a mention being made.

So like do Japanese shoes come in larger than 30cm size?

This commercial came out 9 years before I was even born. But it stayed around for so long that is still remains one of my favorite commercials from my childhood.

ughhh ........ not a fan (but thats ME)

I used the logic that there isn't really a good looking plate shoe...I might as well get something completely different! Ha!....I'm hoping that maybe with the spikes on my feet, they'll be distracted and not notice all of the pitches I'm missing.

I actually just sold a pair of these for $150, they were only used two weekends, total of like five games. I paid $220 and that was 195 plus shipping.  Since my feet are actually like 12 and 1/4 and 12 and 3/8, I took a foul ball straight to my big toe and my doctor said I had a bruised bone. I had this weird red twirl that went around my toe and started at a big red spot right at the spot where it got hit. It sucked.

My jerk partner that day took my indicator and asked the audience if they knew how to fix it, because I had x punched two batters out in that half inning (after my toe got hit) on strike 2.

Embarrassing and peeved off that's pretty much how I thought that day, I'm just glad I had a second pair of plate shoes because I took the next plate as well and I was hobbling around like an idiot.

The following week I put all my size 12 shoes up for sale, how I met Trevor
