High school baseball pitchers who do not receive signals from the catcher must now simulate taking a sign with one foot on the pitcher’s plate before proceeding with a pitch.

POEs:

  1. Monitoring Excessive Celebration
  2. Wearing Equipment as Intended by Manufacturers
  3. Safety of Coaches Sitting on Buckets Outside Bench/Dugout Area
  4. Umpiring Procedure for Lodged Ball
  5. Sportsmanship

(3 should be a good time for everyone concerned...right up there with jewelry.)

That's tied for the dumbest rule change in the history of baseball.

I'm starting to think Matt's right.

What's going on with No. 2?  Are kids using cups for elbow protectors?

Yeah...that's going to be fun.  Let's waste some time between pitches and see if we cannot make 3+ hour games the norm.  So we have a kid that already knowns the pitch shaking off the pitch?
