I know the subject is sarcasm, but I'll go ahead and post my disagreement to a "foul ball fly rule". There are times that allowing a foul fly to drop is the perfect play, not just for some arbitrary individual record. By doing so, the offense isn't disadvantaged, as you find in an infield fly rule.

Red Sox should have pulled the team off the field and forfeited the game!  No #200 strikeout.  :)

What about a five hard penalty for Delay of Game!

Video game antics?

Honestly, this is probably the most mental gamesmanship and strategy that has been applied in any MLB game since Saber-metrics and data took over the game.  I like it.  The game within the game can be far more interesting.

The simple fact the Sox allowed a pitcher to have a 3-pitch, 3-out inning is amazing in itself. Allowed it to happen. On purpose.

That strike 3 call was pretty brutal though.

I'll bet his mentality on that pitch was "anything close is a strike."  His mechanic seemed almost apologetic.

Not one Flop given..

meaningless game, and stat-tastic-crap pulled for a stat.

I suppose if the team really wanted to push for it cause he did not get it that day they could have marched him out there in relief on short rest to try for it again  shrug...

do not care one way or the other..  kinda like Griffey Jr wearing his cap backwards.. I was like "oh well"  its part of his character I mean hey he wasn't a drunk like Mantle..
