I'm not sure what was unusual about the mechanic.

 

For the positioning -- I think he thought the tag was going to be on the back as opposed to the side -- and if so his move would allow him to see it, but staying in the wedge would not (he would be too far from the tag to be able to move enough to see the back side)

I'm simply referring to tapping his side like that. I get that he was selling a tag, it just looked funny to me. I do that when I get back spasms....

Sure, but only when necessary. That's the only possible place Lindor could have tagged him, so it doesn't really add much.

That there was a tag at all is what requires selling here, not where the tag was.

I'm not really disagreeing about anything—it's no nevermind to me how he signals, and the call, signal, and mechanics were all correct—just saying it looked funny to me.

Just shows how tough it can be to get in that optimal spot.
