Just had a great example of the manager's choice on a Catcher's Interference call in the Met@Braves game (9/15/17) in the bottom-2nd .

1 Out, R1, R3.  CI us called, ball is fielded by F5 who makes the 5-3 throw to beat the runner.  

Umpires enforce the penalty, returning R3 to 3B, BR to 1B, R1 to 2B.  

Braves manager comes out and elects the result of the play.  R3 scores, BR out on the 5-3 ground-out, R1 to 2B.
