Never scored an error anywhere.

The WS uses three person teams for official scoring.  Last night they were:  Official Scorers— David Boyce (Royals official scorer), Tom Gage (no affiliation), Jeff Passan (Yahoo! Sports).

ball was EASILY catchable ........miscommunication in the outfield.

Home town scoring for sure.  I couldn't believe that's how it was scored.

99% of the time if the (fly) ball isn't into-and-then-out-of the glove, it's NOT an error in MLB.

I see, I was not aware of that.  Good think I'm not a scorer then.

That ball has to be caught.

But it wasn't.   Doesn't make it an error.  Miscommunication in the OF. No one got there in time. There are scoring rules. Mental mistakes and slow play aren't errors by rule, only mechanical misplays.

Cespedes is a terrible outfielder when it comes to tracking down the ball and gloving it cleanly.  Once he's got it though, don't even think of challenging that arm.  It's the best outfield arm in the bigs.

I'm a Royals fan, and on the replay (at 1:04 in the video), it sure looks to me like it goes off his glove or at least his leg. @Thunderheads is right - that's en error.

yea, I saw it wasn't.  Both fielders were there and either could have caught it.  It went off of Cespedes's glove for crying out loud.

I get it by rule it's not an error..... fine.... the ball has to be caught, IDC when or who....

it did go off him, that's why it ricocheted toward the left field line, that allowed it become a round tripper rather than a double.  If it doesn't go off his body, Conforto is there to pick up the ball off the wall and hold it to a 2B play.

Went off his leg, with his back to the ball, not his glove. At least two, and maybe all three of the official scorers for the game ruled it a hit.

Judgement call guys. Not protestable.  :)

Technically ....I understand that this is not an error ....let's call it ....DEFENSIVE INDIFFERENCE! LOL :D

Judging Errors is one of the more difficult parts of scoring.  There is definitely a tendency to charge more errors than the scoring rules (10.00, old system) provides.

There are Errors and then there are mistakes.  Mistakes are scored as Hits.
