funny the announcers echoed comments I read here recently about the rule not being put in place for such types of calls.

To my less than trained eye, seemed to me, foot came off, but the back leg, then his butt, then is hand maintained continuous contact.

so, ....OUTSIDE on a play like this?

I think I posted this in another thread.  For ME, I prefer outside on throws from right and inside on throws from left., when I'm U2 in a 4 (or 6) umpire crew 9with no one on to start, fo course).

Pretty sure they have the option of inside or outside on all throws, so each umpire tends to develop his own comfort level.

not sure how this doesn't get overturned, but ... here's more fun with being safe, and THEN coming off the bag.

on a pure umpire note, should Everitt be inside on this? (honest question)

Good call.

I think the positioning was pretty good.  It's the equivalent of a "crash" play at the plate, and he move to the equivalent of 1BX.

I agree.  His initial position is similar to POP, and then he moves to his left to get the angle.  I think he moved too late, but his look at the tag and the runner touching the base was very good.
