Clearly a correct call, as we can see with all the camera angles and HD.

I'd expect this might be ruled "no catch" by a 2-umpire crew: we won't be able to go out on that (with R1, R2 we'll be in C), so it will be tough to see. Unless we're on a field where we can see F9 pull that ball out, and even if we're mechanically sound and wait, this will be a major challenge to get right.

Note that 3 of the 4 umpires on this crew made calls during this play: U1 went out and ruled on catch/no catch (correctly), PU ruled on the overthrow staying in play (signals "safe"), and U2 ruled on the retouch appeal at 2B (no retouch). There's a LOT to see on this play: and with 2 umpires, we'd have just 4 eyes to see it all.

Very poor baserunning by R2.  He had all the time in the world to go back -- an still likely would have ended up at third.

True, but shouldn't this be posted at Runner-Empire.com?

:P

It bothers me so much that this was even sent to New York. Voluntary release? In slow-mo?..
