Did he trap it? Almost assuredly. Can I definitively say he did with that replay? Nope. He's probably guilty - just can't prove it. And Barrett was hot - justifiably so. Go tell it to New York, Gardy.

New rule.

After a challege is made and decision rendered anyone arguing after that will be tossed, suspended for 2 games and fined 5% of salary.

you can't?  just look at the screen shot of the first video w/ the ball buried in the grass.

Clear as day the ball is on the ground!

But you can't tell from the screen shot (or at least I can't) whether the ball is already also in the glove.

Can I recommend a good eye doctor?

Catch all day long.

Easy.

Did the ground assist the felder in catching the ball?

Nope. Not in my judgment.

Why is everyone playing the rat today?

What video are you looking at?!

No one's being a rat .....observe and make a judgement.  if you don't see the ball clearly on the ground,...you're better than me

Maybe - but the ball's buried in the grass - kinda hard to miss.

And you can't definitively say whether the glove webbing is under it or not....not enough to overturn no matter what the call on the field was. Probably trapped, if the standard is a preponderance of the evidence, it's a trap. If the standard is indisputable? Call stands.

I would have to know how high they are mowing the grass. It looks like a snow cone with the ball touching the top of the grass blades. Then the ball in glove hits the "actual" ground. But I'm open to an exam by Rich's eye doctor:)

This was probably not a catch IMO. I'd put it at 80% not a catch, 20% it was... Based upon what I've seen so far in replay as far as the 50/50 "probably" plays so far, they've almost always gone in favor of what's more likely, "indisputable" be damned.

A lot of calls have been confirmed. A lot have been overturned. Very few have "stood"... I'd like to see what happened on this play brought to more plays.

"If I had to make a choice, it would be no catch, but I can't be positive, so the play should stand." We should be 100% sure to change a call.

I also like additional discipline for managers ejected arguing replay... 1st offense fine of $5,000... 2nd offense 1 game suspension and $10,000 fine... 3rd offense 2 game suspension and $15,000 fine... So on and so forth.

The only problem is some managers argue just to hear their head rattle!

All I know is that in my games, from 100+ feet away, this is a catch all day long.  I wouldn't even think twice about it.

Yeah.  I need to see the ball bounce to be convinced it touched the ground.
