Pre-game breakfast

What works for you guys as far as a good breakfast prior to a long day of umpiring?  What seems to help you feel good through the first part of the day but avoid the ever-dreaded angry ass in the middle of a game?

wheaties...actually, I make a big skillet breakfast, onions, peppers,spuds, sausage (Jimmy Dean sells these frozen ingredients all cut up), fry it all up...add eggs...toast/jam...milk, coffee...fill the tank. A sandwich/hotdog mid-afternoon and I'm good.

Carb up for 2-3 days prior to game day.

Raisin bran, bagels and bananas game morning.

Water and power bars all day long game day.

 

 

UNLESS it is 8U- THEN it is Jack Daniels and morphine all game day.

Black coffee, oatmeal and fruit. Never fails. Not the most exciting meal in the world, but who needs excitement when squatting behind the dish?

Cereal, Preferably Go Lean Kashi, a banana, and some eggs (If time permits). MetRx or a power bar between games usually does the trick.

Eggs with some sort of carbs (potatoes/toast) plus a banana. Then Larabars between games. Maybe a hot dog along the way if it's a particularly long day.

I get the feeling my Mtn Dew and cheap bubble gum is not up to scratch...

I'm with you...Mountain Dew and Captain Crunch. Always seems to be more ejections in the first game of a DH when I eat this.

Same breakfast I always have.  I don't want any surprises, especially during a long day of tournament games.

 

(Coffee, cereal.  But YMMV.)
