Hello,

My name is Greg, and I have been officiating for 6 years in the state of Georgia. Started in it the rec level and now call primarily in the HS and tournament levels. I decided to join the ranks after 14 years of coaching and seeing the need for quality umpires (having a runner called out for being outside the base path between 3B and home while the ball was rolling in center field may have been the icing on the cake).

I follow the forums on this website and find it to be educating and often humorous.  I was contemplating donning a plate coat until I read several posts on the subject!

Thanks to everyone who has shared their knowledge and experiences.

If you want at plate coat, get one.  Although, I can't see it ever being cool enough in south Georgia where you could use it.
