What a mess at Chavez Ravine last night!

Recommended Posts

Aside from 5 ejections from beanballs .....

The entire crew mess up the count and it takes 4 strikes to get Puig ......just one of those nights I guess :D

Is that not something they can check with the scoreboard/scorekeeper?

No its not.

I'm not saying go by what's on the scoreboard, as they are wrong a lot, but if PU has a diff count than whats on the board it could just warrant further investigation, that's all. They conferenced and still got it wrong.  IR?

Not sure, but that first pitch the score board had as 0-1 appeared like it might have been off the glove and called a ball...the check swing made it look like a foul ball!  Look carefully.

In the video you can see Fagan tell Gibson he never called foul ball. At about :43-:46 read his lips.

Now that I look at it, I think you guys are right, I don't think he fouled that ball off.  So if the first pitch was a ball it all makes sense.

I have seen I think twice an umpire go to a phone to get a count checked.  I remember watching that White Sox game live on TV but have no clue why as I hate the Sox.  (Lifelong Cubs fan).  I've seen it one other place, but don't remember where.

Saw this on the baseball subreddit... MLB.com doesn't have a full highlight of this up as of now. But, I believe this was ruled as interference on R1.
