It's funny because some states, Oregon for example, that says do not use NFHS at all, use CCA exclusively. Other states like NJ and FL use NFHS to a fault. To be honest I don't go to clinics for rules anyway, I go for mechanics. If they are teaching pro mechanics, no big deal. Changing three or four rotations is easy.

I can credit NFHS about 100% with my departure from HS ball.

They are idiots. Sorry but it needs to be said!

The only thing worse than the body itself are the umpires that swear by it and use it as some sort of way to make them feel important or more "qualified" than they actually are.

If you work primarily for an NFHS group than I don't see what's wrong with wanting to attend a primarily NFHS clinic.

My point has been that the main focus of most clinics is plate work. Base work and plate coverages are next on the importance scheme, rules are way down the list or not discussed at all. So to me, no matter what system they are teaching, plate work is plate work. If they learn a few rotations that are different that your group, that is easy to change. However, getting your 90, making pivots, reading trouble balls and most other base mechanics are the same. There are minor differences between pro, CCA and NFHS but not enough to keep me from going to a clinic or recommending it to any of my guys. Anytime my guys can attend a clinic, I'm all for it.

Why do you say this? I understand they have a few rules that are a little wacky. However, most of their differences are because of it being for student athletes. They make rules for sportsmanship, participation and safety. Their mechanics straight up suck and should not be used. I suggest using CCA but some use pro. I use CCA because enough of our guys work college and instead of learning two sets I try to make it easy.
