Champro Pro-Plus plate armor chest protector

Does anyone use this chest protector? If so up to what level is it safe to be used? I know that Midwest Ump

did a review of it but I can no longer access his page. I would appreciate information about this chest

protector from some who has used it. Also this is the Champro hard shell protector.

Thanks

Lefty

I use one and have taken a few shots to the chest and off the shoulders in HS games and senior level BR. Hardly felt a thing. I bought it partly because of the Midwest Ump review that's not there anymore.

That being said, I still want to get a higher level CP and keep this as a backup.

I had a partner who had one and the two biggest problems I saw with the Champro hard shell was that it sagged a bit on the collarbone and it had HUGE gaps in the armor around the shoulder and other areas. Not a chance I would use this protector.

Don't know what to tell you Scrounge, i bought mine this spring and it sits up nice and high. Covers my collarbone nicely, with no gaps on the shoulders. Once I put it on for a game I don't have to touch it. I do have the strap pulled pretty tight and I'm 5'11" at 220lb if that make a difference.

I’m looking for a good low profile chest protector with SMALL shoulder pads. I’m about 5’6, 160 with an athletic build. I currently wear the Champion Body Armor, which is a good fit, but the shoulder pads are too big. I’ve tried the Wilson Gold, but the shoulder pads still seem too big. Maybe I’m trippin’, but I think I look like a linebacker. Any help would be much appreciated.

      Hello all,
I have been using a West Vest Gold for the past couple of seasons and while the protection has been phenomenal, the whole thing feels bulky and does leave my lower ribs (it is the largest sized of the three sizes Wilson offers) and abdomen exposed. With that in mind, I'm looking at getting a Force 3 protector after reading some of the smaller reviews in places like ump-attire, but was looking to see if anyone had anymore feedback that was a bit more in-depth. Primarily using it for varsity level high school ball

Any help/feedback would be appreciated greatly

Does anyone have experience with this CP?  I was doing some research for a new CP yesterday and came across a new web site, allamericansportsshop.net.  Is this brand the same as Champion?  I assume it is but with a new logo.  I have never seen this model before.  I may have just overlooked it. This looks like a much better CP than they have made in the past. Looks very solid.  I would like to see what the harness looks also.  I was about just about set on going with the Schutt XV HDX until I saw this.  They are the same price, but this looks a like it would fit the body a little better. Any suggestions?
