Pre-Ordered the All-Star CP Yesterday from Ump-Attire. Can't wait to try it out!!

Why don't you have it delivered to my house and I will be happy to save you the trouble of testing it.

I ordered mine a few weeks ago. Let me know when you get your CP just as a shipping comparison. The email I received from UA, stated that it could be as soon as mid-September but as late as November.

FYI.......

Ump-Attire has the new System7 All-Star equipment available for pre-order. Called them and they said it should be in by mid September

Spoke with Vanessa to confirm pricing

Chest Protector: $154.99 (this is in-line with the WV)

Leg Guards: $134.99 (no it's not a typo)

I had the same reaction as most of you about the LG's (ouch$$). The folks at Ump-Attire indicated that the price may adjust if they don't sell or if other sites sell them for less. My take....I don't care how good they claim to or may be, at this price point (highest on the market) there are several good if not great options for less.

All-Star was the only brand I would wear back when I played, I feel like they were and still are the best product out there for catchers. But, I'm thinking that Wilson has cornered the market on Umpire protection. There are a lot of things I like about the All-Star protector and shin guards, and I'm in the market for a new set of both. But I'm pretty much set on the West Vest Gold stuff. Anyone have any opinions for me?

I was one of the testers for the All Star gear and I have a WV Gold. You can read the reviews posted above. The biggest difference to me is the lack of bulk in the All Star gear and the absolute comfort of the Delta Flex harnesses. You really can't go wrong either way. What I would do is sit tight and let some others that have preordered the All Star gear wear it and get a few other opinions.

Go to the equipment forum here (you're on it now ;) ) and do a search for chest protectors and shin guards. You'll be reading until Christmas!! I am also one of the All-Star testers ...... good stuff! Low profile, comfy, and protective :yippie:

Another tester here. I agree with thenother guys. I have been a gold wearer for three years, but it has not left the bag since I got the new all-star.

Just going by shape, but was Laz Diaz wearing a new All-Star last night?

Didn't seem to have the Wilson bulk.

Looked like a Riddell Power to me, ...but I may be wrong ....

I wasn't watching last night, but a lot of the MLB guys wear the Power and if they're wearing their plate coat, sometimes they'll throw a WV sticker or Wilson sticker on the power.

true, no sticker last night though. the CP looked 'grey' that's why I thought Riddell (and it wasn't a Platinum) ...that's easy to spot

I received mine in the mail yesterday and wore it lastnight in my game. I was very impressed it never shifted once and it fit great. I really liked how it's low-profile but still has great protection.

Typically I will haul my gear in this trailer for night games, I have a blue one for day games. Seriously...will it be this bad someday?
