Well the season is winding down and I'm preparing my shopping list for the off season.

I feel a little embarrasses having written the article "Look Sharp" and to be 100% honest my slacks look like crap they are over 3 years old and have really faded over that time, looking at them you really don't notice untill you look at the waist where the belt has perserved the natural color of the pants.

The pant's I've liked the best were the +POS pants. They hold up well and are comfortable. I wore the Cliff Keen pants, but didn't care for them as much. Also I don't care for combo pants because they do not fit well over both my fat legs and my shin guards.

What are your experiences with the other brands?

I'm leaning towards Honigs, but I see Gerry Davis now has his pants in heather gray. and that may bee good.

I'm concerned about Smitty, because the ball bags I got which were Smitty didn't hold up well.

Hey all,

I personally will not buy any more heather gray pants, only the dark gray. As far as the brand/supplier, I use the Honig's poly wool plate pants and their new Ultimate Combo pants for the bases. They are the same color and the plate pants hang terrific since the fabric weight is a little heavier than your standard polyester material. Great comfort and look with NO FADING TO PINK!!!:D

My second choice would be the GD charcoal pants because a friend of mine has them and I like the look of them, just not as much as the Honig's.

The Smitty pants are basically a darker version of the heather gray pants. Same weight(MAYBE a hair lighter) and not quite as dark as the GD or Honig's. I do have some of these pants because I tried to save some money and now I don't really wear them.

I have always liked the Fecheimers, I used both their plate and base pants. I just like the way they fit and hang.

I bought some of the Smitty's dark gray pants for the summer and they have been good pants except for the fact that the plate pants are not wide enough to accomodate shin guards they way I like.

I love the Honig's poly-wools, but they are just too expensive for me.

Next year, due to Fed alllowing dark gray, I will be wearing the Gerry Davis dark gray if they ever get my size in stock.

I need to buy stock in Honigs. I buy from the all the time. I WILL NOT............. wear a shirt unless it is Honigs or it ws given to me such as my regional shirts of from world series tournaments. Honigs has to me the best uniforms. The fabric on their shirts are good to me.

Cliff Keen is too hot. The fabric is heavy and it makes me itch.

Don't get the shiny shirts either. They are hard to find now and that is good. They are just about gone.

When it comes to gear, well then I look to cat-sports.net. They have all Wilson/West Vest gear with very good prices. They sell mostly as combo packages. That is where you save.

I have used CK and a pair of sansabelt pants, but switched over the GD's this year and like them a lot. They are extremely comfortable, don't fade, and look good after many cleanings.

i swithced over to the gerry davis charcoal grey pants and I cnat say enough about them. As a marine i demand my appearance be perfect. these hang so well, are very well made and look terrific. the darker grey also looks better IMHO. anyhow, GD now is making there charcoal in a new heather grey that wont be shipped until dec. 10th. i will be ordering those too. If they are made the same then I will have made another great investment. Lets hope our local boards catch on to the latest and greatest in uniforms.
