I see Randy watches softball

Now I see why you do softball @The Man in Blue 🤣

If they make it fast enough (but still too slow for real time calling) make it unlimited until you have 2-4 3 unchanged calls.
-
Personally, with the benefit of replay, slow-mo, and multiple angles, I see the runner not allowed to take his normal path (look at 0:17, he's dipping out to aim for 5+ feet behind PoP vs dipping in for front edge as the runner normally would). He's doing that because the fielder is there and the runner doesn't want to create contact (like they would at higher levels). If he came in hard on his normal path with a solid legal slide, it'd have been much closer - and possible contact before F2 catches the ball, which is unquestionably LL OBS. Real time, completely easy to no call. Not bringing this out to say a call was missed but rather to get the very borderline / high subtlety plays so we can explore it (and in particular for LL that is 2nd year of increased emphasis on OBS).

OBS is one of those variations. There is no exception for fielding the throw. OBSTRUCTION is the act of a fielder who, while not in possession of the ball, impedes the progress of any runner. A fake tag is considered obstruction. (NOTE: Obstruction shall be called on a defensive player who blocks off a base, base line, or home plate from a base runner while not in possession of the ball). The counter argument on this play is the runner wasn't impeded. The catcher never made him alter his path.

Sorry to but keep in mind you are engaging with an LLM - which basically means you are arguing with everyone who's ever been on the internet. You'll never reach a conclusion.

The toaster you're engaging with isn't attempting to reach a conclusion.

American Legion require it for all age groups, (13-19 (super senior)). We keep waiting for LL to do it. Hope it doesn't come down to an injury to make it happen.
-
One added vs subtracted: limit on how many times you can verbally IBB a given batter before you have to start doing old-school pitches thrown IBB, e.g. LL only allows it once. Have to pitch the ball anytime after that.

Shift ban Foul tip beyond hand/glove(?) Implicit Time (e.g. ball swap) Firm batter timeout per AB limits

Answering a question with a question: how would those EJs match up against MC criteria? Is that a large overlap or little?

Just got back from San Bernadino LL week long clinic. Two MiLB umpires came to help for a day or two (in addition to the one that was there the entire time). They both circled back to my Mirage w/ gray socks 2-3 times to give it the goo-goo eyes. One fellow student also fell in love with it.
-
Was in week long clinic so just getting to this now. Yes, the offensive manager picks who leads off.
-
Add: Go slow (especially if you are older). And especially if you've recently added Nordic Curls to your routine, and it's 2 days before a week long clinic. Ask me how I know. ðŸ˜

One thing to keep in mind: these are modifiable, if you're so inclined. I have the Schutt XV (Douglas cousin as I understand it) and I've taken out the shoulder padding, repositioned the shoulders, and removed the pauldrons. There are mod threads that discuss it. The shoulders are pretty curved to begin with but you can reshape them. Here, we'll make @MadMax's day...

like NHL 4x4 (?) OT. Do they still do that?

what ages?

It was fine. I'd say comfort was somewhere between Team Wendy (harder) and AS Mag (softer). Haven't noticed any difference in hits one way or the other. I've used them in ~60F+.

2a. Modified MLB/OBR: Runner on 2B is batter before current batter. Manager gets to pick current batter. 4. Escalating 2a: 2a for first extra inning, R2 & R1 next inning, R3 & R2 & R1 inning after that (all no outs, manager choice of current batter) (seen from my travel ball parenting days)

Officially starting my little league umpire journey tomorrow
Velho replied to orangebird's topic in Youth Recreation Ball
I hear you. That's one of the reasons I just joined the Board. It's a good league currently but needs attention to remain that way.
