I wouldn't go any other way! The bulk of the MAG pads does get some getting used to. But until Force3 gets off their high horse and gives us non leather pads, I will be sticking with my MAG pads.

Since we are talking about 34 inches total of shin guard, and most of us only use about 28 inches total, it is entirely possible.😁

Those two tone pads were great. At the time my Diamond was still that silver/pewter color they did when the mask first came out. I dumped the Diamond pads (they sucked then, they suck now, and I'm betting they always will suck) and put the Wilson's on. At least 2 to 4 times a week, I would have different umpires ask me if it was a Wilson Titanium! Lol

Yeah, since John is one of my favorite younger umpires (and maybe the best 3k mechanic in the game now that Hallion has retired) I like to pay attention to him a bit closer than most guys. (I'm also jealous of that mop on his head... and I still have all my own hair!)

I went from a set of two-tone Wilson wrap around pads to Team Wendy to Wilson Memory to back to Team Wendy. Any pad will work with these except the Force3. My personal favorite, as stated above, is the All Star MAG pads. I would use those on just about anything.

Plus, it is fuzzy (not the best photo) but you can kind of make out the part of the MAG mask where the ear flap is filled in from the manufacturing process. Gooch might have made the switch. But I am 100% positive Tumpane did not.

And you can believe me when I say... it isn't HARD to get to that $129 mark! Lol Great thing about UA is that they also have free returns. So get stuff to make it to $130 that you are interested and want to look at. Then return what you don't want at that time and keep the pads. You won't regret it.

Gooch I can agree on. That for sure isn't a MAG (unless there is something we don't know yet... which I'm sure can be possible). But I'm still not convinced that Tump's mask isn't a MAG. Will have to get a better look once the season starts.

Interesting. Tumpane I am sure he had his All Star since it was a black on black (on black skully) look.

I would say they should be fine. Yes they have a shelf life. But to my knowledge, that is out in the sun/weather and being used. Not sitting in storage.

Pretty sure both were still wearing their MAG masks.

Ditto on all the above. All Star pads (either the LUC or even better the MAG pads). Then Team Wendy (note... they will get stiff in the cold before you start wearing them and warming them up). Then Wilson Memoey Foam.

I can't recall where this thread is at. But Quinn Wolcott is on the dish for Mexico-Japan. He still has his trusty Nike Ti. But has ditched the tan Team Wendy pads for the graphite All Star MAG pads.

I'm STILL sad the one we worked out for me didn't work out. It ended up working out in the end to a good home.

You can also have Douglas fo different colors and such for the padding. I had gotten one of these a few years back. But it turned out it was to small for me. But I had plans to get the gap protection and change the color on the padding while getting it refurbished.

Yes... Ump-Attire does have the grey pads (All Star is constantly out of them but UA has them). I just purchased a pair and got it about a week ago. Slightly more expensive than getting it direct from AS. But pair it with the free shipping and it comes out to only about a $5 difference in the end (plus you get all the rest of the stuff you want from UA).

This is rhe color I want but just can't swing the idea of sending my frame to Tony right now. I know this is probably a silly question. But would you be willing to swap a silver MAG frame for your Gunmetal one straight up?
