  1. That is likely Venezuelan Winter League.
  2. Your call as BU on both situations assuming you didn't go out on situation 1 anticipating a trouble ball but you said right center gap so assuming you read extra bases hit off the bat.
  3. Great transactions recently with @midtnump, @JoHart10 & @acpar72. All three gentleman great to deal with & extremely satisfied with shipping @ products being as described. Built a really good looking mask with the mix of these purchases
  4. The way I'm reading it is Angel has been cut from the 2015 MiLB Spring Training Invitees list thus affecting his call-up status. It mentions his MiLB reassignment to IL last year. Wouldn't seem that they would send him back to IL though if he is cut from MLB duty unless they had given him some feedback for improvements with an eye towards a possible return to MLB status in future years. Not a scenario that usually happens though is it?
  5. Officialsports.net also has them for 99.99. Very prompt shipping. Out of Texas.
  6. Maybe the NFL should go ahead & ban QB audibles at the line of scrimmage as well. Makes about as much sense.
  7. Great stuff. Already sounding like the conversations I had with my son every night when he attended TUS in 2012.
  8. I think they realized that they had missed the original bump by the scoring runner since it occurred a good distance behind home plate and the attention of the crew by that point was back on continuing play in the field. They were probably giving him a lot of leeway since they did not have an ejection involving the "instigator".
  9. Full info is in this thread in multiple places.
  10. They must play until lightning is right on stadium or something. Was at Memphis Redbirds (AAA) last night and it was the same situation. Lightning all over & they played until the rain began to fall & tarp had to go down on. This happened twice. When rain stopped 2nd time there was cloud to ground lightning all over so delayed about 15 more minutes before it subsided. They must have some high tech toys that tell them how close the lightning strikes are or something.
  11. Cool story. Another young guy living the dream. It makes all of us who got into umpiring later in life a little jealous.

He went to TUS in it's 2nd class in Jan, 2013. Turned out to be a great decision for him. He has always had that "it" factor & he had a lot of great mentors here in Memphis who helped him and supported him along the way. He was fortunate to get to call a lot of top notch HS ball in or area in the 3 years before he went to TUS. Began umping right after he finished HS playing days.

He is employed by PBUC. Did Spring / Xtd spring in Bradenton / Clearwater. Started last year in GCL then promoted to Appy. Started Appy 6/19 & is being promoted Monday to Midwest League. Wife & I were all set to travel next week to see his games @ Greenville, TN Astros complex with free lodging & all w/relatives. Having to scramble our plans now to see him in Ft. Wayne, IN next weekend. pretty exciting time for him.

My son was given a pair during Spring Training in March by MLB guy and they were black. He has taken some good shots on them and liked their performance. He was told they were available in tan as well but at that time those were the only colors he knew of. I got to wear them a game when he was home before his season started. Very similar to TW's I thought but I didn't get headcracked so can't personally compare to TW's or Wilson wraps.
  16. Tell the Site B UIC to his face what you told the Site A UIC. No need to talk about him behind his back. If he's a p-s%! like you said you told the Site A guy then don't hold back. Especially if you have no intention of working for his location again. i too do USSSA ball and fortunately our UIC has our back always and has no problem putting coaches in their place when they are showing their ignorance or arrogance.
  17. The WV gold is hard to beat although I would recommend the All-Star harness. I just bought an All-Star System 7 from a member here and took a serious shot with it y'day in 18U game. Felt nothing. I love the fit & low profile of it but in my opinion my WV gold covers lower rib slightly better. I'm only 5'8" so I feel if you are larger framed you may like the Gold coverage above the All-Star.
  18. Crew of Winters (CC), Wegner, Fletcher & Muchlinski were on the NYY/BOS series. Must be for Union reasons.
