  1. @Rock Bottom, I have posted before, but will reiterate my appreciation for the F3 V2. YES! It is a much heavier set up , when compared to almost anything (but having a neck like a fire plug helps mitigate this for me). I have never tried the mag, so this will be one sided. When I can tell you, is that the first foul ball I took to the mask (think benchwarmers movie.....but I ticked it!) sounded like a shotgun going off. Gettysburg HS coach hollers out of the dugout.....BILL!! Are you ok?!? I responded that I was fine. I feel that I need to add that SWMBO was behind the backstop talki

  2. I originally posted the following in July 2019-- 2019 NCAA rule 8-3f. Visual obstruction by a defensive player may be called if a fielder interferes intentionally with a base runner’s opportunity to see the ball on a defensive play. PENALTY for f.—The umpire shall point and call “That’s obstruction.” The umpire shall let the play continue until all play has ceased, call time and award any bases that are justified in Rule 2. If a runner(s) advances beyond what the umpire would have granted and is put out, the runner(s) is out. The offender’s team shall be warned, and a second offense

  3. This seems to be a popular question lately -- did something happen in some "well publicized game?" In any event, the runner may leave as soon as the ball is touched. All codes. Prevents the fielder from "bobbling the ball all the way to the infield to prevent an advance."

  4. So I mentioned the Rawlings TI. I think the fact that they did grey on the outside and black on the inside, is kind of a cool touch. Though I don't know if it actually does anything. But sitting here putting my son to bed. And wondering if Tony could re-create that with matte black on the inside and gunmetal on the outside? I think it would be really cool. And a one of a kind mask. (At least for right now.)

  6. IMO: Both will provide excellent protection. However, you're basically asking to compare the lightest mask out there with the heaviest. Disclaimer: I do not have the F3 V2. Personally, I'd go with the All Star mag. It's super light and super comfortable. The jaw pad is really comfortable in any weather. I really like the idea of the plastic plate in the bottom pad to help disperse the energy of an impact. The top pad is just a regular LUC pad. The sightlines out of the mask are just okay. The bars are more like blades, so they're really thin but longer than your typical mask. IMO,

  7. Canada doesn't have the high school framework that the US has for baseball/softball - the weather isn't conducive to it - volleyball, basketball, football, yes...baseball/softball no - and I know in the US female participation in high school baseball is VERY low - something like 1 girl per 400 boys? (I suspect that mainly because at that age girls typically don't want to be the only female on the team...and you just don't see all female teams/leagues within high school baseball). Because all our baseball and softball happens in leagues outside of school, and start in the evenings during t
