Question

Home run is hit in high school game. Batter purposely whips bat into the infield where it land near pitchers mound and points at pitcher as he rounds the bases. Any call to be made?

WOW< ........I'd have to take a look at some rules, but that's incredibly poor sportsmanship!  My first thought would be to let the home run and runs (if any were on base) to count, and toss him after he crosses home plate, but the more I think about it, ...it would probably be  best to give a STERN warning to everyone as he's rounding the bases.   If someone can cite a NFHS rule here, ...please jump in!

Oh hells no, he's getting ejected at the end of playing action. This is much more than carelessly flipping a bat per rule 3, it's intentionally using the bat as a weapon AND taunting. He gone in one of the easiest ejections ever.

2018 FED rule 3-3 ART. 1 . . . A coach, player, substitute, attendant or other bench personnel shall not:

c. carelessly throw a bat;

2019 NFHS Case Book Play 3.3.1 Situation CC:  After hitting a line drive toward F5, B1 releases the bat, which strikes F2 or the umpire. The act was judged by the umpire to be (a) intentional or (b) unintentional. RULING:  In (a) and (b), this is a delayed dead-ball situation. In (a), the offender will be ejected from the game. If his fair hit ball is a base hit, he will be replaced with a substitute runner. In (b), the umpire will warn the coach of that player’s team that the next player on that team to violate the rule shall be ejected from the game.

2019 NFHS Case Book Play 3.3.1 Situation LL:  With Team B at bat (a) B1 receives ball four and on his way to first base, B1 carelessly flips the bat toward his bench, almost hitting the on-deck batter, or (b) after hitting a ground ball to F5, B1 flips the bat behind him as he begins his advance to first base and the bat strikes F2, or (c) F1 while backing up home plate, picks up a bat and tosses it out of the way, but in doing so almost hits the plate umpire. RULING:  In (a), (b) and (c), the umpire shall issue a team warning to the head coach of the player committing the infraction. (3-3-1c)

3.3.1 Situation QQ:  Players from Team A begin taunting a player from Team B. RULING:  If, in the judgment of the umpire, the infraction is of a minor nature, then the umpire shall issue a team warning to the coach of the involved players. Otherwise, the umpire shall eject the players, which also shall serve as a team warning.

That would be a violation of NJ's sportsmanship code which deems taunting, baiting, berating, or any actions that may cause ridicule or embarrassment to an opponent as ejectionable offenses.

I would eject and here is why

his next at bat the other team is putting one in his back and that can get real ugly real fast.

It wouldn't get that far.  The next batter is getting one in the ear hole if you don't stomp on this situation right now.

As soon as he crosses the plate he's ejected, unsportsmanlike conduct, plain and simple.

Why wait until he crosses the plate? You can eject him immediately and he can still run the bases.

The "penalty" part of the rule says, "The warning or ejection shall be made at the end of playing action."

The penalty at 3-3-1(l) deliberating throwing a bat, helmet, etc., doesn't actually specify that - it's silent on whether it is immediate or at the end of playing action.
