I know fair/foul is first priority and it's R2, not R3, but should he be going this far? I know I hate batted balls in this location as PU.

Bonus lesson on timing by U1 here as well!

Props to Jim Deshaies for knowing why Tichenor was all the way down the line

We've all been there.  Nice to see a pro do it as well.

U3 needed to stay at third in case there was a throw back there.

U2 was the only one with nothing to do -- he should have covered the plate.  ;)

wow this is great..

a few things we can take away...

1. In this situation or anytime with R3 PU should give the signal " like quotation marks" which means the BU will take all fair and fouls outside of the dirt circle. thus leaving the PU at home for a play a the plate.

2. Timing, Timing, timing at 1st base.. at He slowed down to see the ball in the glove and Voluntary release he would have only had to make 1 signal... but it happens.. trust me.

No way u2 should have come in...a very advanced mechanic... U3 should have slide home.. then U2 could have taken R2 and BR

It wasn't R3, was it? I thought it was R2 who came around to home on the misplay at first.

It was R2 who rounded 3rd and then came home.

Doesn't matter.  In 4-man, with R2 or R3, PU stays home.  That was the point.
