Question

Guest BigVic

I have a question. Runners on the corners two outs. Batter hits a ball deep into outfield and advances to 2nd base run comes in. However, defensive coach realizes the batter missed touching first base and this was seen by umpire as well. Ball thrown to 1st baseman who tags first base umpire calls the batter out.

Does the run count, since technically that is a force out at first?

3 hours ago, Guest Rule number please said:

Where in the rules is this condition discussed, thanks.

Which condition?

Whether is's a force at first is covered under the definition of Force Play.

Whether the run count's is covered under the rule called "How a Team Scores."

You can get to both of these by googling "official baseball rules" and opening the .pdf.  The index will point you to Definitions  and How a Team Scores
