First Scrimmage

I did a JV scrimmage tonight which wasn't bad, I got switched off a varsity game with two top teams. I worked the plate while my assignor worked with the three base umps, rotating them in and out. I had five or six called third strikes, decent pitching except one from each team and two rundowns between third and home. I had one bad catcher that bailed on me on a low pitch down tthe middle. It went past me but I quickly explained that he was the catcher, not the run the ball up at the screen guy. They pretty much threw a new pitcher every inning and catchers every two. All in all not a bad game to start with. Not a great game but enough interesting things happened to keep you in the game.
