I have my first Little League game ever tonight. I have the Plate.

Its going to be 9-10yo with 3 Umpires.

Notice I said 3 Umpires and not 3-man mechanics. I am told that no one rotates! :shakehead:

If not then who has 2nd?

It's going to be weird!

Don't know how it is in other areas, but I'm pretty impressed with the level of ball from the 9-10's in our district tourney. Had one Sunday night..6-4 final. They made very few errors. Well played, well pitched ballgame. So who knows, you might get a good game...However-- the 3-man no rotation thing..... :shakehead:

I can't say it was a pleasant experience!

The parents on the losing side and the coaches complained from the first pitch!

About pitch count, boo, int, obs, you name it.

Not to the ejection point but close.

I guess it was our fault they lost!

How'd the four man for ten year olds go? Did the U3 make one call during the entire game? How about U2?

Everyone made calls. But I had the most. Several plays at the plate.

So I get a call from the LL UIC and told me that the director of the tournament had been watching the game and he is not one to gibe many complements but said that was the best Umpired gamed he had seen in a long time and the loved the way I handled the trouble team that lost.

So they want me back this week to do the semis and championship game.

I sure fooled them!

Congrats Jax. I do a lot of LL games this time of year. It is the way I give back. We do all 4 man during this time of year. Most all the guys umpire HS with me so it is a lot of fun.

Thanks!

Great job!! I occasionally like doing these games. I think when experienced umps come in it causes issues. Most of the year our group sees 15 year old intern umps at this level and the managers kind of own them more. When the real crew gets in, the parents see and hear things they never have before. The game called right.
