    Why wear a throat guard?

@LineyNinja good question and honestly I didn't think of that situation until you put it in my head. Thank you all for the comments. I am definitely going to get a throat guard to go with the setup I mentioned in the OP. I'm still leaning towards the Samurai Gears guard however the other thread on here about the broken one has me a little concerned.

    Why wear a throat guard?

Hello everyone. I'm looking into getting a +POS Zero G frame and adding Team Wendy pads to it(I know about the issues with getting items from +POS but I'm willing to wait/take a chance on that). My question for the board is other than looks, why would I add a throat guard to the mask. Aren't the bars on the mask already sufficient? When I'm in my stance, the metal guard on the mask ends up over my protector so that it doesn't feel like there is a gap in between. If convinced that a throat guard is needed, suggestions about which one will go good with that mask? I like the Samurai Gears model. Thanks!! Scott

    1st game in 26 years.

After a pretty successful season I'm well into my 2nd year back and just got word that I've been selected to work the HS playoffs in my state! Not sure if that means I'm that good or the shortage is that real....

Adams XV-HDX received today thru hibbetts

Greetings all, I recently purchased the XV-HDX through Hibbets and it too was missing the triloc's on the bottom straps. I emailed both Hibbets and Schutt. Hibbets wanted me to send it back and Schutt was wonderful to work with! I explained the posts on this forum in my email and that it seemed like a lot of people were missing them. Lindsey at Schutt couldn't have been more helpful and is Fedexing some to me today. Gotta love it when a company has great customer service and stands behind their product!! Now if I could only get MadMax to post that picture of him wearing the cp.... Scott

    1st game in 26 years.

One of my assignors got desperate and I have my 1st Varsirty game tonight in as many years as I was away. 2 teams playing for 6th place before the playoffs start. I'll be on the bases and I am SO thankful for the chance to prove myself worthy of the assignment. Now if I can only remember where positions G, J, and K are.... Sent from my SM-G930R4 using Tapatalk

    1st game in 26 years.

Had a game this week final was 30-3...had a perfect game going until the bottom of the 5th. Kudos to the visiting coach who only allowed his kids to take one base at a time. He could've easily run the score up. I got back into officiating to work some basketball games this fall and got talked into working baseball games again because a friend that assigns needed some help. I am so GLAD that I took that call. I have been missing out on all this fun for way too long! I'm regretting giving it up 26 years ago!!

    Line up cards

What does everyone do with line up cards? I'm finding it hard and looking foolish trying to use my hand as a hard surface to write on. Is there something out there that can help? Something that will fit in my shirt pocket or in the ball bag? Sent from my SM-G930R4 using Tapatalk

    1st game in 26 years.

After taking 26 years off I worked my first high school JV games again this last week. Seasoned veteran didn't show for the first game(bb) so we had a nice scrimmage where the home team "won" by scoring 8 runs in the bottom of the 7th. 2nd game was softball where the visiting team scored 25 runs in the top of the 2nd...ahh the joys of working JV games to prove myself worthy of varsity contests... on the upside the sleet has stopped for the moment in my little part of SE Wisconsin for now... hopefully my 4 games this week don't get canceled!!
