I like the idea, but it might be quite the squaredance if you're on the dish, and your shirt goes on last.

Oh, and I'd put on a Nutty Buddy, in case one end of that rig misfires.

Just clip them to the top of the trousers until the shirt goes on, then clip them to the shirt hem.  Personally, I think it's a bit of overkill.  I put a high value on looking sharp on the field (can't tell you how ticked off I get when partners don't bother to shave, and arrive looking like someone at the corner begging for money), but the shirt stays just add another thing to worry about.  

There's another brand of those that uses buckles at each end.    I used that 'other' brand when I was in the Navy, back when we had those stupid white shirts.   Let me tell you the pain of that lower buckle letting go, while I'm supposed to be standing at attention.

These stirrup styles aren't nearly a problem.
