All this talk of a plate coat makes me want to get on the plate coat train.

Also would sizing up to a 40 work or look too sloppy?

You should always size up to accommodate for your CP

I thought it was "order or get your normal jacket size" as they are made bigger for your cp?

If you are a 44R in a suit coat...order the same size for your plate coat because they made to accommodate the cp. Sizing up will be too big

Are you a size 44? I have a navy blue in 44L if you're interested.

Mine is my regular coat size. It is cut properly for the fit.

I found one just this January through a California umpire association website (I think it was CBUA) store that was selling their left-overs. Black, not as high quality as the MLB ones, but still worthwhile. Took me forever to find it, literally scouring random links in random association sites, but it's doable.

You don't want it too big or too small. If you know someone that has one close to your size try it on. You can not use your regular suit as a guide because of the cut and your cp. The Honigs measurement guides help.

I put on a size 40 today and it fits well. And size 40 plate coats out there?

You may have to get a larger one and have it cut down to fit. I have two 44s. One is in the cleaners. I'm gonna sell one probably.
