1. Many thanks to @JimKirk and and his crew at Ump Attire. I bought a new F3 throat guard. 1st game using it, I took a foul ball straight to the middle of it and it bent. Sent pics and a short description of what happened. I had a new one on the mail the same day. It arrived this afternoon. Thanks again Jim and his crew. I have told everyone in my association about the customer service at Ump Attire.
2. The harness is elastic. The mask is designed to be worn snug. It takes a little getting used to , but I haven’t had any issues. I took a shot to the right cheek in a 13u wood bat game on Saturday and barley felt it.
3. I have about 6 games with my F3 and don’t find it heavy at all. Even with consecutive games on the plate.
4. Thanks @MadMax. I knew from previous threads that it needed to be snug to the face. I think I’m about there with the harness tightness. I was able to see some pitches in a HS bullpen session yesterday and it felt pretty good. Unfortunately it will be at least 2 weeks before we got to see the field here in Central Oregon due too 12+ of snow and temps not much above freezing.
5. I just got a new F3 v2 mask from Ump-Attire. I know the harness is supposed to be tighter the a traditional harness for the mask to work properly. I searched but couldn’t find out how much tighter. Any advice would be appreciated. Thanks
6. OP states that there two outs. Perhaps there should be a clarification. If there were less than two outs, then I agree with the above post.
7. I had to take a knee earlier this year to avoid a line drive to the chin. I used spray-n-wash on the grass streak of my polywools, and then washed in cold water at home. After the wash cycle, the stain was gone. Hope this works for you as well.

Interference

If you can quote this rule, you would be the first to do so. This is my point. I can find no rule that makes Interference on a force play (no slide) an automatic DP. Rule 8 Section 4 Article 2 sub-section B. from the 2012 NFHS states: Any runner is out when he: (B) does not legally slide and causes illegal contact and/or illegally alters the actions of a fielder in the immediate act of making a play, or on a force play, does not slide in a direct line between the bases. A runner may slide away from the fielder to avoid contact or alter the play of the fielder. Runners are never required to slide, but if a runner elects to slide, the slide must be legal. The force play slide rule can be enforced at all bases, including the plate. It does not matter if the runner slides or not. It does not matter if the runner runs to right field or the infield. If the runner alters the play in any way, shape, form, or fashion, then the BR is out as well. This came from the Oregon state rules interpreter. The onus is on the runner to avoid getting in the fielders way, period.

Interference

By rule, if the runner alters the play from the fielder, then the runner and BR are out.

Interference

How is this FPSR? There is no slide in OP. Taken from the latest Oregon SRI Bulletin: Rule 8â€4â€2 reads: Any runner is out when he: B: does not legally slide and causes illegal contact and/or illegally alters the actions of a fielder in the immediate act of making a play, or on a force play, does not slide in a direct line between the bases. A runner may slide away from the fielder to avoid contact or alter the play of the fielder. Runners are never required to slide, but if a runner elects to slide, the slide must be legal. The force play slide rule can be enforced at all bases, including the plate. I have a FPSR violation.
11. Thanks Warren. I lurk alot, but I learn something everyday.
12. I don't post much, but I saw this story and thought it was a great gesture by the Padres organization. Enjoy. http://espn.go.com/e...hentic-uniforms
13. Is 1 stamp enough postage to ship from Oregon? I have a 2010 Oregon State Athletic Association I am willing to mail to you.
14. I was wondering the same thing. He lives in my town and has helped run clinics for my HS association. Great guy, also does HS basketball in the off-season.
15. http://www.macdougallbats.com/ based here in Bend, Or. has created a great laminated bat. The High-school summer league used them in 2010 and I really enjoyed the game using these bats over the metal.
16. Thanks guys. We were pretty sure the the batter has a strike added, but wanted proof.
17. This question came up in our meeting tonight: With R3 on third and one out, B6 hits a fly ball in foul territory near third base. R3, who was leading off in foul ground collides with F6, who was trying to make a play. After agreeing that the R3 was out for interference, I asked "what about the pitch?" Much discussion ensued about what to rule the, such as: adding a foul ball the B6, for an uncaught foul to calling a no pitch due to the interference. I could not find a rule reference for the pitch. My opinion is the the batter should have a strike added to his count for the foul ball. What say you. Please cite a rule or casebook reference, if possible. Thanks, Leo
18. This was an e-mail that SWMBO forwarded to me. I thought you all might enjoy. Beer Theories * "Sometimes when I reflect on all the beer I drink, I feel ashamed. Then I look into the glass and think about the workers in the brewery and all of their hopes and dreams. If I didn't drink this beer, they might be out of work and their dreams would be shattered I think, "It is better to drink this beer and let their dreams come true than be selfish and worry about my liver." Babe Ruth * "I feel sorry for people who don't drink. When they wake up in the morning, that's as good as they're going to feel all day." Joe E. Lewis * "When I read about the evils of drinking, I gave up reading." Paul Horning * "24 hours in a day, 24 beers in a case. Coincidence? I think not." H. L. Mencken * "When we drink, we get drunk. When we get drunk, we fall asleep. When we fall asleep, we commit no sin When we commit no sin, we go to heaven. So, let's all get drunk and go to heaven!" George Bernard Shaw * "Beer is proof that God loves us and wants us to be happy." Benjamin Franklin * "Without question, the greatest invention in the history of mankind is beer. Oh, I grant you that the wheel was also a fine invention, but the wheel does not go nearly as well with pizza." Dave Barry * "Beer: Helping ugly people have sex since 3000 B.C.!" W. C. Fields * "Remember "I" before "E," except in Budweiser. " Professor Irwin Corey * "To some it's a six-pack, to me it's a Support Group. Salvation in a can!" Leo Durocher * One night at Cheers, Cliff Clavin explained the" Buffalo Theory" to his buddy Norm: "Well, ya see, Norm, it's like this.. A herd of buffalo can only move as fast as the slowest buffalo. And when the herd is hunted, it is the slowest and weakest ones at the back that are killed first. This natural selection is good for the herd as a whole, because the general speed and health of the whole group keeps improving by the regular killing of the weakest members! In much the same way, the human brain can only operate as fast as the slowest brain cells. Excessive intake of alcohol, as we know, kills brain cells. But naturally, it attacks the slowest and weakest brain cells first. In this way, regular consumption of beer eliminates the weaker brain cells, making the brain a faster and more efficient machine! That's why you always feel smarter after a few beers."
19. Hey Mazz, good on you for going. We had a guy go to Jimmy's school this year.
20. My association starts assigning as soon as the schedules are given to the assigner. For us, it is before the test is given. Check with the higher-ups in your area.
21. I have the NB 350s and love them. Mine are all black. They shine up nicely. Even after several hours in them, me feet feel fine. Hope this helps.
22. Look over in the NFHS site and you will see some of the things that Ump45 is talking about. There is a certain poster over there that appears to be a scorekeeper wanting umpires to do his job as far as recording the final score in a database of some sort, among other things
23. What is ABI? From a thread on the NFHS site, I think that ABI stands for "accelerated break-in".
24. It took my awhile, but I think is: "TENNIS ANYONE"
25.

FWIW, after I logged in from my wife's smartphone, it went right to the "mobile" format. I didn't have to change anything. 1 more thing for her razz me about. :)
