  1. Mask for season. Need a vote!

I call BS! He isn't looking for advice, he just wanted to wave that shovel in our faces ONE MORE TIME!
  2. They’re back!

Screw you guys, I like it, and i bought it! So there!
  3. Line up cards

Razzer’s holder is the best! I have things written down almost before they actually happen. It is that good. If you don’t have one, well, you’re just dumb. Don’t be dumb. Get one.
  4. It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...

Didn’t he buy that from someone on this board?
  5. Mizuno Shovel

We had a discussion going on in another thread, so I decided to start one here to give an update to those of you that are all wanting to get your hands on one, here is what I found out, according to our friend So Yamaguchi, owner of Samurai Gears. I’m not real optimistic on a reboot, at least one directly from Mizuno. I asked So about offering Mizuno a pre-sale, and if specific numbers were met, they could do a limited production run. He floated that to Mizuno, and their answer is, when they stopped production, they threw out all the molds for these. (I find that answer from Mizuno as a little suspicious. If these were made by injection molding, the molds are VERY expensive). But maybe they did. He then asked if he were to get a manufacturer to make a similar throat guard, if people would be interested. I said if it had the same look and feel, I think it would do well, because these aren’t necessarily something that brand matters on. If he gets it right, then they should sell well. If it looks cheap, then probably not. i also mentioned one of our members here (sorry to who it was, I can’t remember, so shout out if it was you, or if you know who) talked about a 3D printing angle, and he was very excited at that prospect, and was going to look into it. Not sure how he gets around the copyrights, but maybe Mizuno doesn’t care anymore. Doubtful but who knows. In a nutshell, it’s not much to convince me that there is any real chance, but the one thing we do have, is that So told me he wants one for his mask, so at least we have someone that is motivated, and had a personal stake in it. I’ll let you know when I hear from him again.
  6. Mizuno Shovel

    I guess that’ll work.
  7. Mizuno Shovel

Since this is a wish list at the moment, you can say however many you want. You can even go all Dr Evil and say you want one million of them!
  8. Douglas Padding

Especially the look he would give her when she says, "Bring out the gimp."
  9. Douglas Padding

Oh ok, I figured you didn’t include your face in the shot was because you didn’t want us to see the ball gag in your mouth.
  10. Douglas Padding

Yeah, um, that’s great info and all, but this picture is creepin me out a little. Lol

Or at least just ask them to use curved, flat plates. The ball will skim over your shoulder and not take as much of the force of the ball like those champion ones could.
  12. It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...

We can hope. if you need specific pics of anything, let me know. I just took the pads off to clean it up.

I cannot speak from experience with the Champion, as I have never worn one. All I can tell you about the Riddell, is that when they made it, they were able to catch lightning in a bottle that many have tried to duplicate, but none as successfully as the Power. Riddell was somehow able to produce a vest that, out of the box, conformed to your body, with minimal adjustments. It is also incredibly light. I have used a lot of the offerings out there, and I have never had a vest that was as light and comfortable as this one. I (almost) feel like I am not wearing one at all. I have heard people talk about "the cool factor" as being the reason why these are highly sought after. That could be why some do want them, but when you put it on for the first time, that's when you realize what all the hype was about. It's a shame that they can't work out some deal to produce them again. Even if they could, I don't know if they would anyway. The guy I worked with there on mine said they have no interest in baseball anymore, because he said there's no money it.
  14. It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...

That is the probably the padding they used on mine when they refurbished it, because what they used is pretty thin, and it's clear to see they used modified padding that was made for shoulder pads, then customized it from there.. I really like it though, have taken a couple good shots, and it works just fine. It's not something you don't feel at all like the Gold, but it doesn't hurt either. It's a great trade off. The only thing about it that I would have liked for them to have done differently, was to have done something to make it more of a "crew neck" than a "button up" I'll post some pics to explain what I mean....

Max, I did some looking around last night on the D30 product, and what I am finding is that this is not a Schutt exclusive. In fact, it doesn't appear that they developed this product at all. The material was developed by a British company, who provides their material to Schutt, among a host of other companies. The interesting part, is that they provide this stuff in various forms (mesh, solid, lightweight, etc) in FULL SHEETS! The downside is, in order to get your hands on it, you need to be a company looking to apply it to a product that would not compete with their current brand, or partner products. So, what kind of BS story can we concoct to compell them to send us a bunch of this stuff in sheets? https://www.d3o.com/contact-us/
  16. It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...

@MadMax Funny you should say that. I have been thinking about that very thing. Aside from cost, and finding someone who is a sewing machine and textile virtuoso (which I think I have found), what are your thoughts on the feasability of purchasing 1 or 2 of those just for the pads, then reengineer them Into one custom made pad for the Power? Doable, you think?
  17. Ebay finds

I just replied to his last email asking him if he could go to his rep and see how many sold units it would take on a pre-order basis to dial up a special production run. If he were able to put that together at a semi reasonable price-say $30 each or so? I think there would be a lot of us suckers that would happily order multiples of these. I’ll let you know what he says.
  18. It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...

Before I would sell, I would first need to figure out how much “Nope!” is worth.
  19. Ebay finds

All he needs to do is tell them there are at least a few dozen idiots on some message board that are willing to pay whatever they want to set the price at. Should be a done deal then! Lol
  20. It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...

    Haha! Well played, my friend!
  21. It's a bird, it's a plane, it's...
