  1. This is the same game as my previous post on the Squeeze bunt where the batter was called out of box. for this one im curious if you would consider this a completed catch? this is a game highlight video so fast forward to 1:22 - batter hits a soft sinking fly to shallow CF - did the CF complete that catch? what would you call that? Play in Question begins at 1:22 Also just in case you didn't see the other tread - the controversial call on the Squeeze is at 1:58 (normal speed) and 2:25 (slow motion)
  2. would you consider this batters interference? BATTERS INT??? https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=LyyTK3H2A2Q
  3. 11U baseball LL rules (but not offical LL) loaded bases 1 out Batter hits a popup to 2b - Infield fly is called. Runner on 3B never stops just runs home - All other runners hold their bases Ball drops All other runners take off for their next base - 2B man & SS have runner from 1st in a pickel However the Runner from 3b that never stopped crossed home - gets almost to his dugout then I guess thinking the ball was caught runs back towards 3rd base (retouches home...on his way) when he reaches 3rd base he then turns around and goes for home again - the SS throws home to get the runner at the plate (abandoning the run-down R1 was in so he moved to 2B) Now my question is: the runner from 3rd base once he touched home has socred - his actions on going back to 3rd for no real reason do not count so he can NOT be put out - is that correct? I am Basing that on: Rule 5.06 Comment: A run legally scored cannot be nullified by subsequent action of the runner, such as but not limited to an effort to return to third base in the belief that he had left the base before a caught fly ball If correct we have: R3 - scored: R2 moved to 3B R1 moved to 2B Batter - OUT on IF This seems unfair to the defense since they didnt see the runner score - so they spent their time trying to get a lead runner and stop a run from scoring - but he could not be put out (he already scored!)! They would have gotten R1 out in the pickel (most likley)
  4. Loaded bases - 3-0 count on Batter. (outs do not seem to matter) Next pitch is ball 4. Batter drops bad and heads for first Runner on 3rd base jogs towards home and picks up bat, but never touches home plate. Before enterning the dugout his temmates remind the runner to TOUCH HOME! Before runner can return to touch home, the catcher tags the him saying he missed the plate. Is he out for misisng home....? or is he able to return to touch it - since he was entiled to home without any risk of being put out and he had not yet entered the dugout......
  5. TY that is what I thought - but it just seems so unfair!
  6. Sorry if this has been asked before - if it was I couldnt find it! Runner on 1st (outs dont matter) Runner leaves early and batter hits a ground ball to SS SS pivots and throws to 2nd base - however runner beats the throw ONLY BECASUE HE LEFT EARLY! IF he had not left early he would never have beat the throw In Little league it seems the umpires are forced to leave this runner on 2nd base and reward his leaving early - is that correct?
